G-Archiver

Coding Horror reports that Gmail backup software G-Archiver emails the user name and password of users to the apparent creator, John Terry.

It looks like Mail.dll component was used by this company to download all the emails from GMail for archiving.

Apparently they used the trial version of the component, and did not buy the license. We've informed this company that they are violating Mail.dll user agreement.

Indeed jterry79@gmail.com emailed me in the past with some questions regarding Mail.dll component. His emails regarded only the usage of it. I can provide those emails and my answers, if anyboby wants. Because of this conversation, my email address and name was added to his contact list.

Please let me state that Mail.dll does not store nor steal any user data. G-Archiver software did.
